Review WALL-E (2008) Film

Synopsis

One more film in collaboration between Walt Disney and Pixar, entitled WALL-E. The film is hilarious but also touching

800 years after the trip inhabitants of the earth into space because of the condition of the earth is increasingly polluted and covered with trash. On earth, ultrastore Buy and Large (B&L) employ robots compression garbage, which is named WALL -E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth). Today, on Earth, only the remaining one robot is WALL-E. And, the little robot spends his days are boring and lonely to compress the rubbish that fill the earth and compile them into a pile of blocks that resemble giant buildings. WALL-E only has a cockroach friend immortal.

WALL-E life of mediocrity to come to his attention a robot named EVE (Extraterretrial Vegetation Elevator) is assigned to find signs of life on earth by bringing proof of a plant. When EVE find plants that had previously been found by WALL-E, he must return to the planet's axiom to provide discovery.

Then, after that, come back to the aircraft carrier to pick up EVE. WALL-E EVE are not willing to go and then followed the ship up into space. Inside the Axiom ship, the plane landed, and it's where the entire population of Earth is located. They live by depending entirely on technology. Communicate through a computer screen, and do everything with the help of robots. They sat in a chair automatic, never move and move, so consequently their bodies into fat.

Review

Though he is tiny and relegated to the dirtiest of the dirty jobs, WALL-E truly understands how to find value in sullied things and how to create magic out of useless objects.

He is more human than the humans in that way and slowly, without preaching (he can't even talk), WALL-E begins to show them how to regain what they have lost through sloth and over reliance on technology. It's an environmentalist film, but also a poignant homage to simple joys in this era of iPods and digital everything.

Unlike the animated films in general, the WALL-E is mostly character is a robot that communicates with the emotional and movements, without having to make a verbal personal communication. So in this film we are shown a lot of pantomime scenes among the characters who played in the film.

In this movie also depicted how social interactions among humans is lacking, hardly even there. Physical touch and emotional necessary to maintain personal relationships no longer exist because humans are too lulled by technological advances.

Knowing this they suddenly realize that earth is not feasible anymore for human to live. Thanks to sophisticated technology that human made, they build a spaceship which can accommodate entire people in the world. Human migrating from earth to this spaceship and planning to live in the outer space and will come back to earth when the planet clean again. They abandoned the earth and left a cleaning robot to clean every pieces of trash in this planet. However the human seems forgot to come back to earth and live in the spaceship for centuries to the extent that their offspring didn’t know that planet earth exist.

Now, let’s ignored the main character WALL-E, let’s see what the human doing while in the spaceship. They are sitting in the mobile chair, and facing the big computer screen for all of their life, for all of their life. The human even never use their feet anymore to walk, because of that mobile chair, we even can see in several part of this movie when some people ejected from their chair, they just rolling in the floor and can’t even sit down, they even can’t lift their body. You will realize that it will be horrible, people never use their body anymore, they even forgot how to use it, and because of lack of movement they suffer from obesity, they all fat.

The film is very watchable with family fit, especially together with the kids, because it provides a lesson that people should keep the earth where he lives and there is human computer interaction. Regardless of possible or impossible to live the WALL-E life, the only thing we should do is we always have to aware that computer is made to help our needs, not to enslave us to use it that we can die if we can’t reach a computer. By realize something like this then we will use the computer wisely, not too much, but enough to help us solving our problem, then we can see a bright future with technology as our friend.
